Stopped in to check out the place because there aren’t many hifi stores around, especially in Maine. Richard the owner joked that I was casing the joint 😂 Can’t blame him. I was wearing all black and suspicious looking 👀 😆 We actually got talking for like a good half hour or more though about different equipment that I have and I asked him about some of the equipment in the store as well as sharing some background of each other as it pertained to hifi, professional work, and experiences, etc. etc. I will be going back at some point and hopefully try out some equipment for purchasing later on. I’m intrigued in the tube system he has. He seems to deal a lot in home grown American 🇺🇸 equipment/products, so that’s refreshing. Sadly, I didn’t take pictures like I normally do. Guess I got too busy talking. Richard also helped me figure out what probably is the issue with my record player and how I could fix the constant skipping issues I have.
Had a problem with a recent purchase of some vintage equipment NOT purchased at this store. Owner of this small business in a small town was thoughtful and asked good questions. The service I got on my equipment was exemplary. Owners product lines show me he digs beautiful sound coming from quality equipment. Worth the money and the drive. My kind of shopkeeper.
Rich is not only a great guy but also a great audio resource. Being able to walk into a store and listening to gear you may be interested in is disappearing in the digital age . Rich will patiently work with you and help you find something that works for you and your budget whether it is a new pair of speakers or an entire stereo system.
