Sight and Sound by Design and specially the owner, John Gardner are excellent!!! I found John and his company through Nextdoor app. He had excellent reviews, so I called him. From our first conversation, I was very impressed with his knowledge, but more importantly, he was willing to work with my current system, and with us to upgrade to current technology, where needed. John helped us, “cut the cord close” With spectrum. In place of that we now stream through YouTube TV and it is flawless and easy to use. He updated our Wi-Fi with a mesh router infrastructure (glad to be in 2023 technology) and installed new Apple TVs on all TVs (at our request, in order to keep the remotes the same and the end user experience as simple as possible) and did I mention… Cut the cord from spectrum and save about $200 a month!!! He also tweaked the audio on our Dolby 7.1 and 5.1 home theater surround systems. We could not be more pleased! John was super easy to work with, he was very responsive, and I felt like he is reasonably priced for a superior job. I would highly recommend John Gardner if you need any home audio video services.
I highly recommend Sight and Sound by Design for all audio/video needs! He has setup my systems in 3 rooms, but most importantly my basement project where he set me up with a crazy good system. The owner, John, is professional and very reasonable when it comes to pricing. Most important though, when it comes to setting up your “man cave” right you need someone that has great ideas to help with recommendations based on years of experience, is high quality, and is meticulous when it comes to doing the job right. He makes sure you have all that you want and need! EVERYTHING was done perfect and had me on cloud 9 once the project was complete!! Then there is the customer service aspect, which I can tell you I have never had a better experience. I have had issues that have popped up, none to do with John but due to things like me changing cable companies where they messed things up, but I never worried because over the last 2 years since the job has been completed John has always been there to help when I’ve had an issue someone else caused! I can’t recommend John and his company Sight and Sound by Design in Fort Mill, SC enough! Truly amazing!!!
John and the Sight & Sound by Design team have been incredible to work with. We bought our home a little over a year ago and had no way to use our downstairs surround sound. He was quick to come out and install a Sonos unit, walk me through how to use it via Sonos app and Spotify, and discuss future options for adding surround sound upstairs as well. I remember telling John during our initial interaction that I'd be leaving a 5 star review for such a positive interaction, and it completely slipped my mind (so if you're reading this and forgot like me, please leave him one). During our first interaction, I appreciated the absence of him trying to oversell us on any projects/installs. Recently in the service industry, there are constant attempts at upselling, but John was upfront and transparent about the current system limitations and what upgrading could look like down the road. For the first year, there were no issues with the system (aside from wifi connectivity issues...I think Comporium is a thorn we can all agree is in our sides). We use the system almost daily and noticed it suddenly stopped working. John took a call while he was out of town in Beaufort and walked us through a temporary solution until he could return. He came out as soon as he was back in town and was able to resolve the issue in 10 minutes. I do think it was a fluke or a user issue, but he was patient as ever and did not make us feel inconvenienced for such a simple site visit and fix. Again - he discussed upgrades that would help functionality long-term, but wasn't pushy for the upgrade. For that reason, we will probably be upgrading in the near future!
