Gary is a wonderfully knowledgeable and warm person, passionate about audio, and such a pleasure to do business with. He spent time listening to and evaluating our system, composed a thoughtful list of recommended components for improvement, and lastly was gracious enough to then loan out each of those components for several days, so that we could spend time with them at home and make good buying decisions. With Gary, there is no pressure. You really do feel as though you have a well-informed guide, who genuinely shares your goal of getting the best sound possible within your means. Highly recommend.

True Audiophile understands customer service and the need to follow-up and make sure the job meets the needs of the customer. My business experience was online because I cannot drive to the store but I wanted to upgrade my C Sharp Turntable and get the Jo No 8 MC Coil cartridge. Marc was very helpful answering all my questions and was quick to inform me about all the shipping details. A few weeks later I discovered the cueing mechanism for my tone arm was losing its hydrulics and they were quick to get me a replacement. This is a business focused on customer satisfaction. You can't go wrong with True Audiophile. I highly recommend them and really wish I lived closer. They have a lot of gear I would love to check out in person.

True Audiophile is an awesome store! I purchased my first dedicated music server from them. I had a few setup problems on my end and Gary was great at helping me get up and going. Gary later helped me upgrade to the Revelation Audio USB cable. The entire staff has been quick to respond to my questions and needs. True Audiophile is highly recommended!!!

About 7 years so we updated our home audio system with the help of Encore Audio. They did a great job determining which components we needed to replace and which could stay and then made sure everything worked perfectly after the installation. A 5 star rating! Recently, we updated our television sets and added Apple TV and a Roku Streaming Stick. Again we chose Encore Audio and again they did a great job. From the crew that delivered and did the install, to Jeff Grove who came out and made sure everything was set properly and working properly, we again give Encore Audio a 5 star rating. Their attention to detail and their attention to customer satisfaction is the best !!!

These guys are amazing! This was my first foray into quality AV components. Before Encore, I had spent years dealing with frustrating Logitech remotes to control my previous AV system. No matter how much time and effort, it just never worked correctly. Jeff, Clark, and Chris from Encore set me up with a complete Control 4 system, new Sony flat screen, and all the needed accessories. After a few phone calls (which were always either answered or promptly returned) we ironed out all of my change / customization requests, and now my system works better than I had even hoped. The customer service was absolutely the best I've experienced anywhere, anytime. Bottom line, if you are considering upgrading from big box store consumer level devices to the far superior systems offered by Encore, its worth spending a little more to get the good stuff.

The whole team at Encore is superb, from the folks who designed our whole home AV system through the techs who installed and updated it through the last six years. The customer service troubleshooting when unexpected events occur is always responsive, patient, and thorough, eg. when we had an unexplained power outage that damaged multiple pieces of equipment and required dealing with our insurance carrier. And no question or concern goes unanswered. Applause, applause for Encore.

Pearl Audio is by far the best hi-fi shop in Portland. We bought our first system from Connor about 5 years ago. It was fairly modest, but over the years we’ve made some pretty substantial upgrades. Connor worked with us along the way, over multiple systems, making sure we got what worked for us. There is a lot of misinformation with audio equipment, and they take the time to answer all your questions in a no pressure environment. They’ll also set up and let you listen to different speakers, amps and streamer configurations without fuss. They don’t push crazy cables or gear, but if you want it they certainly have it. Sonus Faber, Magico, B&W, dCS, Linn, McIntosh, T+A, Boulder, Cardas, Nordost etc. Absolute top tier equipment in the shop, being run by some of the nicest and most honest guys around. I’d give 10 stars if I could.

The product selection and product knowledge at Pearl Audio is phenomenal. They never tried to upsell me, just provided information and recommendations that suited my wants and needs. This would have been enough for me to leave a positive review, but after the purchase, the customer service I received from Connor and team blew me away. I have a 70’s era integrated amplifier in need of repair. Being most all of my HIFI is the same era. I was also looking for a reputable and competent shop to establish a relationship. Fred’s is all that and more. When I took the unit in they advised me of about a 2-3 week turn around time provided parts were not needed. Imagine my surprise when they called me a week later and said it was ready. Fred’s went through the entire unit and re soldered cold joints, cleaned pots and generally gave it a good cleaning. The sound improvement was dramatic. I really cannot think the last time this unit has sounded this good. All at a very fair price considering the expertise needed with this vintage equipment. Fred’s is now my go to shop all things vintage.

Friendly staff had all the knowledge to get me what I needed and weren’t standoffish toward someone with less know-how. I got a; Denon DP-29F Turntable Audioengine 2+ Wireless Speakers (sounds great for the size) Record cleaning brush And a stylus cleaning brush. This was all I needed to be out the door in 25 minutes tops. After searching online and in big box stores for weeks with little good equipment to be found, these local guys were a big help and will definitely get me and my families future business! I didn’t catch the employee that helped me’s name, but hope he knows he was appreciated during this sale!

Fred's Sound of Music makes dreams come true!! Joseph was incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help in assisting me plan a birthday gift of surround sound for my partner in our home theater! A couple of trusted audiophile friends recommended Fred's with good reason and Joseph made it so easy for me, from researching and knowing what would be compatible with both the gear we already had and the physical space of the room. I walked away more knowledgeable about sound systems and so excited to gift the surround sound experience! P.S. He loved the gift and is itching to watch the first movie with the new sound system!
